As an NCAA Head coach, Rob started two successful Men's College lacrosse programs.

Division III York College of Pennsylvania was Horrigan's first coaching stop. He helped legendary coach, Phil Avillo, transition the team from a nationally respected club program to an NCAA Varsity program. In his time at York College, Horrigan recruited over 60 Student-athletes, including the Capital Athletic Conference "Rookie of the year,” and seven All Conference players.

His second stop was founding the program at Belmont Abbey College, just outside of Charlotte, NC. In the program's first year of existence he earned the 2006 Deep South Conference "Coach of the Year."

In those two seasons at Belmont Abbey, Horrigan recruited and coached six all-conference players, the 2007 Carolinas Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) "Freshman of the Year," and one of Inside Lacrosse magazine's "Pre-Season All-American Goalies."

In 2011 Rob became the head coach at Providence High School in Charlotte, NC where he coached until 2016. In his time at Providence, Rob had the opportunity to coach some great high school players, many of whom went on to play at all levels of the NCAA and MCLA lacrosse. In 2014 Rob helped guide the team to North Carolina (4A) State Semifinals with a 12-6 record and a conference record of 6-1.

Horrigan started his lacrosse career in Annapolis, MD at St. Mary's high school. During that time St. Mary's was ranked #1 in the nation. After St. Mary’s, Coach Horrigan attended Bridgton Academy in Maine playing for coach Mike Fuller. Following Bridgton, Rob played at Hampden Sydney College, a storied Division 3 program led by Hall of Fame coach Ray Rostan. He finished his career as an attackman at Division 1 Towson University playing for another legendary coach, Tony Seaman. Rob was also a participant in the 1998 World Games.

In 2001 Rob founded Turn and Burn Lacrosse camp, a residential camp at York College. When Coach made the move to Charlotte, TBLax came with him. Turn and Burn was a service provider for boys and girls lacrosse in the greater Charlotte area and during its time from 2007 to 2016, Turn and Burn helped over two thousand kids start playing lacrosse! Rob also founded Lax4U a high school and youth Tournament company, providing three tournaments a year attracting teams from up and down the East coast.

Coach Horrigan has a passion for growing the game and has done camps and clinics all over the country. He is also proud that he was a Featured speaker at USA Lacrosse convention, the sports governing body.

Most recently, Rob has created Clay County Youth Lacrosse a non-profit with the intentions of helping to grow the game in Clay County Florida.
